Making Managers.
1. Management is an activity that is applicable to all societies and all situations. When people experience good management, they have an excellent opportunity for success, when they do not, only outstanding individual effort can prevent failure. Production failures, as a rule, accompany poor management development of the organization.
2. There is a continuous need for improved management in all the fields of modern production and society as a whole. It is not only to teach managers how to manage efficiently, but also to teach the employees how to participate in the management process through involvement in planning and commitment to organization goals.
3.Training is a continuous role for the manager, and he is a trainer at least half of his time. Only the manager who is close to the scene, who works with his staff, can efficiently analyze where training is most needed at any given time. One of the most important principles of the manager development is that the responsibility for development of his subordinates rests on him. At the same time, the manager must recognize that all development is self-development, he cannot do it for the subordinates.
4. Management developing is a deliberate process. It will flourish in an organization where top management believes in it, supports it, and rewards it.
It will flourish under the guidance of able and skillful leaders who are looked upon with respect and who are able to coach, guide and assist other managers in the organization in becoming competent and dedicated to developing their own subordinates. Management development involves planned learning experiences including courses, seminars, work-shops and individual reading programs.
Most importantly, it involves individual desire and commitment educational courses, when properly designed and presented, can give people the kind of experience that will help them learn quickly and easily when back to job.
